"Because He lives I can face tomorrow!"
It's the song that God played on repeat in my mind all Easter day. And it's such a good reminder of what Easter is REALLY about, not the bunny, the eggs, or the chocolate (The ever-so-delicious chocolate!!). I needed the remembrance this Easter of what it is really about and God showed me. He allowed me to remember His agony in the garden where he sweat drops of blood. He allowed me to remember the long trials He endured. He allowed me to remember the scourging, the thorns, the mockery. He allowed me to remember his walk up Golgotha where his blood left a trail for His haters to trample and and follow. But it's His pain, that trail of blood, those nails, the abandonment, His death, His VICTORY, that allows me to be His daughter. And I am so so grateful for it.
Here are the lyrics to the hymn:
Because He Lives Bill & Gloria Gaither
How sweet to hold a newborn baby And feel the pride and the joy that he gives Oh but greater still, the calm assurance We can face uncertain days because He lives
And because He lives, I can face tomorrow Because He lives, all fear is gone Because I know He holds the future And life is worth a living just because He lives
And then one day, I'll cross that river I'll fight life's final war with pain And then as death gives way to victory I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He reigns
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow Because He lives, all fear is gone Because I know He holds the future And life is worth a living just because He lives He lives, He lives
Until next time,
